Accounting Clerk performs routine accounting activities such as data entry, maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports. Reviews, codes, and verifies transactions including billings, invoices, checks, and journal entries. Being an Accounting Clerk assists in completing moderately complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools. Reconciles accounts and bank statements. Additionally, Accounting Clerk has a basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounting Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Compensation: $17.89/hour
The Accounting clerk will provide clerical support to the Accounting Department.
This is a full-time, benefit eligible position working Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC
• Assists the Accounting Department with all clerical related items.
• Completes OIG, SAMS, and EIN verifications for new vendors, and maintains vendor cards within the accounting system.
• Responsible for distribution of checks to vendors.
• Responsible for scanning invoices into the accounting system.
• Handles vendor calls for the Accounts Payable Department
• Responsible for distributing Accounts Payable Department mail and emails
• Other job duties as assigned
High School/GED required
WORK EXPERIENCE
Must have an aptitude for working with numbers and assisting with accounting functions. Clerical and some computer skills would be advantageous. Basic Microsoft Office skills are preferred.
