Accounts Payable Manager jobs in Michigan

A great UHY client is seeking an AP Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have Coupa experience (required), Financial services experience (preferred), and will have a thorough understanding of the AP process.

The AP Manager is a hybrid position, with 2-3 days/week in office. This is a client direct hire position.

AP Manager Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the accounts payable team, providing guidance, training, and support.
• Set performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Oversee the timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices.
• Ensure proper coding and approval of invoices in accordance with company policies.
• Resolve discrepancies and issues related to invoices.
• Coordinate the payment process, including check runs, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.
• Ensure compliance with payment terms and take advantage of early payment discounts when applicable.
• Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with vendors.
• Address and resolve vendor inquiries and discrepancies.
• Negotiate payment terms and agreements with vendors.
• Implement and enforce accounts payable policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting principles, and relevant regulations.
• Participate in internal and external audits related to accounts payable.
• Generate and analyze accounts payable reports for management.
• Provide regular updates on key performance indicators and metrics.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Streamline accounts payable processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and finance, to ensure seamless workflow.
• Work closely with the accounting team to reconcile accounts and provide necessary information for financial reporting.

AP Manager Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
• Experience with Coupa required.
• Financial services experience preferred.
• Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.
• Thorough understanding of the AP process.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to make prudent business decisions.
• Must be able to hold conversations with senior leadership.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
