Addiction Mental Health Assessor conducts initial and ongoing assessments of patients in Alcohol and Drug (AoD) addiction programs to determine mental health needs and establish care requirements. Provides initial treatment and refers clients to appropriate agencies/providers as needed. Being an Addiction Mental Health Assessor works with patients and families to develop appropriate chemical dependency service plans. Complies with standards in the area of evaluation, assessment, treatment, and service delivery to clients. Additionally, Addiction Mental Health Assessor requires certification as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or similar. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Addiction Mental Health Assessor's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. The Licensed Counselor Supervisor supervises Counselors in the field of substance use and mental health disorders, and other clinical support staff delivering assessment, substance use disorder education and treatment, and case management to clients. Oversees client program: evaluates counselors’ work performance, audits client records to ensure regulatory and contractual compliance and achievement of service delivery objectives. Serves as a professional resource to other counselors in resolving complex case problems and provides clinical supervision and guidance. Interprets and enforces the organization and facility policies and procedures, contributes to development of treatment protocols and processes. Performs other duties as assigned.
