Admitting Supervisor supervises the day-to-day patient admissions and access operations and staff responsible for required registration, and patient intake processes. Follows standardized processes for admission procedures to ensure accurate data collection, a positive patient experience, and effective coordination between clinical and administrative teams. Being an Admitting Supervisor monitors operational metrics to improve processes, increase efficiency, or correct problems. Prepares staff work schedules to ensure coverage and coordinate training and staff resources. Additionally, Admitting Supervisor follows all established policies and standards to preserve patient confidentiality, ensure data security and comply with all applicable regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Admitting/Switchboard Supervisor performs various supervisory functions under the general supervision of the Director of Health Record Services, will be expected to act independently and be able to assist the Director when needed. The Supervisor will be expected to know the functions of the Admitting Department, insurances, computer use and ancillary department functions and needs and must have knowledge of third party payers and basic medical terminology. The Supervisor must have the ability to plan and control the activities and functions of Registration and the Switchboard.
Status: Full time, 40 hours/week. Supervisor will share in the coverage of the Department Mon – Fri 5:45 AM to 7:00 PM.
