Aerospace Engineer researches and develops structural engineering specifications for aerospace products, parts, or associated operations to improve the efficiency and reliability of aerospace systems. Analyzes results of stress tests on various craft and missile parts to determine material durability and tolerances. Being an Aerospace Engineer oversees flight tests of prototypes and analyzes resulting data to validate flight characteristics and identify necessary improvements. Conducts calculations and utilizes simulations to evaluate aerodynamics, structural integrity, propulsion efficiency, and the effect on fuel consumption of new or existing materials. Additionally, Aerospace Engineer utilizes CAE, 3-D, and digital modeling to create detailed plans and specifications to support production. Assists quality assurance and purchasing teams with the evaluation of new or existing suppliers, products and materials, or technologies. Understands and complies with all federal regulatory requirements and specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Aerospace Engineer work is closely managed. Engineering Deputy Manager – Aerospace Manufacturing

The Engineering Deputy Manager, in coordination with the Engineering Manager, will plan, organize, and direct the engineering team in generating concise work instructions.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Work with manufacturing, production, quality, and administrative personnel; review and implement quality and process improvements.

    • Ensure the accuracy of work order planning performed meets all customer requirements.

    • Create and verify the accuracy of manufacturing plans used to produce goods to customer requirements.

    • Develop staff skills and openly communicate to encourage new ideas and innovation.

    • Resolve technical and scheduling issues to maintain an acceptable level of workflow.

    • Perform root cause analysis and answer corrective actions, follow through to see training and changes are implemented.

    • Be able to read, understand and learn customer specifications, Cygnus operating procedures, and work order instructions to certify part Quality Inspection and acceptance.

    • Create and modify standard operating procedures.

    Typical Benefits Package:

    • This is a full-time position. Schedule is a 9/80 pay period. 1st week Mon-Thu 6am-3:30pm & Fri 6am-2:30pm 2nd week Mon-Thu 6am-3:30pm & Fri off.

    Qualifications: Education, Experience, Special Skills and Knowledge

    Education – Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant experience is required.

    • Experience in aerospace engineering, machining, or manufacturing preferred.

    • Proficiency with computers and software to include AutoCAD, NX, Catia and/ or Solid Edge.

    • Production planning skills necessary to produce manufacturing and quality process plans.

    • Proven analytical, problem solving, and process improvement ability.

    • Effective communication and teambuilding skills.

    • Must understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

    • Mechanical aptitude and spatial cognizance to understand and utilize mechanical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and quality requirements.
