Aerospace Engineer researches and develops structural engineering specifications for aerospace products, parts, or associated operations to improve the efficiency and reliability of aerospace systems. Analyzes results of stress tests on various craft and missile parts to determine material durability and tolerances. Being an Aerospace Engineer oversees flight tests of prototypes and analyzes resulting data to validate flight characteristics and identify necessary improvements. Conducts calculations and utilizes simulations to evaluate aerodynamics, structural integrity, propulsion efficiency, and the effect on fuel consumption of new or existing materials. Additionally, Aerospace Engineer utilizes CAE, 3-D, and digital modeling to create detailed plans and specifications to support production. Assists quality assurance and purchasing teams with the evaluation of new or existing suppliers, products and materials, or technologies. Understands and complies with all federal regulatory requirements and specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Aerospace Engineer work is closely managed.   • Roles and Responsibilities:

    • REGENT is looking for a highly motivated, highly skilled technician with experience in aviation electronics and avionics as well as familiarity with maritime environments
    • We are looking for an experienced electrical and/or avionics technician capable of fabricating, assembling and maintaining our vehicles electrical systems, supporting both hands-on and managerial work
    • This person will work side-by-side with our engineering team to develop our seaglider prototypes through design, fabrication, integration and test
    • In this unique position you will have the freedom to provide direct feedback and implement solutions to unique challenges in the development of an advanced all-electric maritime vehicle
    • Your experience will help ensure designs consider integration, assembly and maintainability and you will provide guidance on industry best practices
    • Applicants should also be eager to learn new skills from both industries. This role will focus primarily on avionics and electrical systems but will also support significant mechanical assembly work as well
    • Applicants should also have a keen eye for safety and safe practices in the operation of aircraft and marine systems


    Required Qualifications and Skills:

    • 5 years working as an electrical or avionics technician
    • Ability to fabricate aircraft harnessing from wiring schematics and drawings to industry standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620
    • Ability to create and support the generation of maintenance documents and procedures
    • Familiarity with the use of MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Experienced with standard hand tools and measuring devices (multimeter, calipers, crimp tools, etc.)
    • Experience with test and safety practices for low-voltage and high-voltage systems and components


    Desired Qualifications and Skills:

    • Aerospace industry experience
    • A&P technician experience
    • Experience with energy storage systems such as Lithium-Polymer or Lithium-Ion batteries
    • Experience with high power, high voltage electrical systems
    • Prototyping and production manufacturing experience (harnessing, PCB rework, composites and metalworking)
    • Experience on the water, operating in and around marine craft
    • Experience in and around aircraft
    • Experience navigating CAD models in NX or a similar CAD system as well as schematics in Capital, Altium, or similar
    • Familiarity with soldering (per IPC-A-610 and IPC 7711/21)


    Bonus Points:

    • FAA pilot’s license or boating/sailing experience
