Aerospace Engineer researches and develops structural engineering specifications for aerospace products, parts, or associated operations to improve the efficiency and reliability of aerospace systems. Analyzes results of stress tests on various craft and missile parts to determine material durability and tolerances. Being an Aerospace Engineer oversees flight tests of prototypes and analyzes resulting data to validate flight characteristics and identify necessary improvements. Conducts calculations and utilizes simulations to evaluate aerodynamics, structural integrity, propulsion efficiency, and the effect on fuel consumption of new or existing materials. Additionally, Aerospace Engineer utilizes CAE, 3-D, and digital modeling to create detailed plans and specifications to support production. Assists quality assurance and purchasing teams with the evaluation of new or existing suppliers, products and materials, or technologies. Understands and complies with all federal regulatory requirements and specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Aerospace Engineer work is closely managed.   • The Systems Engineer 2 defines, designs, develops, and manages system requirements for small to medium sized ISR programs involving mechanical, electrical, and software engineering disciplines. Assesses architecture and current hardware limitations, defines and designs complex system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.


    Essential Functions:

    Develop and maintain complex system architectures

    • Design, develop, and maintain software applications to support system infrastructure
    • Ensure system availability, reliability, and scalability through proactive monitoring and performance tuning
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve system issues and improve system functionality
    • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system diagrams, user manuals, and standard operating procedures
    • Coordinates and consolidates design efforts on major
    • Lead project planning and implementation efforts, including resource allocation, risk assessment, and project scheduling
    • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in systems engineering and identify opportunities to implement them in the organization
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Regular and reliable attendance on a full time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule].

    Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of technical standards relating to systems security to include experience administering UNIX, Linux and Windows operating systems, experience with large-scale server systems, within client architecture, system virtualization and other related peripherals
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to coordinate programmatic requirements
    • Ability to manage time, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems and provide focused solutions


    Education / Certifications:

    • BS/BA in Engineering or applicable field.


    Experience:

    • 3 - 6 years of engineering experience.
    • Experience with designing, installing, configuring, testing and troubleshooting complex networking, video, remote sensing, RF, and IT systems.


    Physical Requirements:

    • Constantly required to sit, and to reach to use computers and other office equipment
    • Frequently required repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and/or fingers


    Security Clearance:

    Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.
