Airframe and Engine Mechanic maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots aircraft components to ensure safe and reliable performance. Conducts routine servicing to optimize the lifetime of aircraft airframe and engine components according to internal procedures, guidelines, and technical handbooks. Being an Airframe and Engine Mechanic utilizes a variety of tools and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine malfunctioning parts of aircraft engines and assemblies. Follows company protocols to maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization within the hangar or workshop. Additionally, Airframe and Engine Mechanic recommends part changes or adjustments to ensure compliance with all federal aviation regulations, standards, and specifications. Maintains accurate records of services and procedures performed and documents and reports issues, concerns, and unusual wear or damage of parts. Requires a high school diploma. Requires FAA Airframe (A) and Powerplant (P) Mechanic License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Airframe and Engine Mechanic works under moderate supervision.     Position Summary 

    As a member of the team your primary job location will be at OCONUS operations in TBD AOR reporting to AIRtec Airport Facilities 2W6 located at 44190 Airport Road,  Suite B, California, MD 20619 in St. Mary’s County, MD. Deployment rotations will consist of 60 days on duty followed by 60 days off duty based on mission readiness and status.  

    Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanics support our maintenance team and are responsible for ensuring the assigned aircraft are maintained in accordance with FAA standards and all logbook and company reporting requirements are met. This position contributes as a team member to maintain high aircraft availability rates 365 days per year. A&P Mechanics may supervise any contracted technicians performing specialized inspections, repairs, or logistical support on or off site.  

    Essential Functions 

    • Completes aircraft and engine maintenance as required or needed.
    • Follows established and normal aviation safety procedures and processes.
    • Maintains complete and accurate maintenance records.
    • Conducts scheduled inspections and completes follow-up as required.
    • Inspects engines, landing gear, instruments, pressurized sections, brakes, valves, pumps, air-conditioning systems and other aircraft related systems.
    • Complete necessary maintenance and repairs (replacements) on the aircraft, its subsystems, and components.
    • Repairs sheet metal or composite surfaces and assemblies.
    • Checks for and corrects corrosion, distortion, and cracks in the fuselage, wings, and tail and other subassemblies IAW with applicable instructions and directives.
    • Troubleshoots as needed to all aircraft systems.
    • Keeps a clean and orderly work area.
    • Toolbox must be inventoried and have a list of the inventory.
    • Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Maintain professionalism at all times.

    • None

    Skills Required 

    • King Air 200 & 300 Series experience required.
    • Working knowledge of applicable FAA standards.
    • Attention to detail and ability to complete required reports on a timely basis.
    • Ability to work in a collegial manner with Company employees, vendors, and customers.  
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

    Minimum Qualifications 

    • U.S. citizenship .
    • High school diploma or equivalent .
    • Minimum of 5-10 years of King Air aircraft maintenance experience.
    • FAA issued Airframe & Powerplant Certification.
    • Certifications for specific aircraft may also be required.
    • Possess and maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits as required for assigned work.
    • Possess, at minimum, a secret level security clearance.
    • Ability to successfully pass a drug test. 

    Travel  

    • Travel and rotational deployment throughout the United States and locations outside of the United States, including austere locations, is required.

     

    Physical Requirements 

    • Ability to work in a variety of physical conditions, including austere conditions;
    • Ability to wear respirator or other required safety equipment;
    • Ability to work in confined spaces;
    • Ability to lift 100 lbs.
