Alumni Affairs Director oversees services for alumni. Builds and maintains alumni mailing lists, oversees mailings and coordinates and plans alumni functions and activities. The Director of Alumni Relations plays a key role in increasing and strengthening alumni engagement for the College of Law’s 10,500 alumni. The Director develops, implements, and evaluates strategies to engage alumni in the life of the college for their and the university’s benefit. This person will be responsible for building relationships, leading events, and communicating to law alumni. The person will work closely with current students, alumni throughout Iowa and the nation, and university partners.

Specific Job Duties and Tasks
Develop, manage and implement communication strategies for outreach activities, events, and partnership initiatives. Ensure that outreach messaging follows the organization's brand and messaging goals. Assess the success of communication initiatives developed for outreach and partnership programs.
Oversee College of Law Alumni Relations programming, including reunion program, pregame cookouts, national and regional events, and alumni volunteer opportunities.
Assists with negotiations for venue contracts, books space, arranges food and beverage, orders audiovisual equipment and arranges for signs, décor and other items for Alumni relations events.
Ability to work closely and collaboratively with the UI Center for Advancement, collegiate, and campus partners for the benefit of the College of Law.
Work with Marketing/Communications Director in aligning law school messaging with priorities and alumni activities and helping to coordinate other important alumni activities, such as US News Ranking strategy including supporting ten alumni participating in the US News Employer Survey.
Develop, establish, and execute communication strategies and plans to support Iowa Law's alumni relations program and lead the planning of those programs.
