The Alumni Relations Coordinator manages all programming aimed at deepening and growing relationships with alumni in support of the mission of SLUH. The ARC reports to the Senior Director of Community Relations and leads programs recurring on an annual or semi-annual basis, such as alumni reunions, alumni board, St. Louis U. High Day, and Tributes & Tradition.
The ARC actively supports the goals of the department and Community Relations team, which involves active collaboration on a wide range of events, projects, and appeals.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ensure best practices, creativity and fresh approaches are used to keep the 15,000 living alumni engaged and supportive in the mission of SLUH.
- Plan and execute reunions (1st, Jubilee, Mega, and 50th) that allow for a successful celebration of former classes that honors their time at SLUH and reconnects or strengthens their involvement in the life of the school.
- Co-lead the development and implementation of St. Louis U. High Day online giving day.
- Assist with the development and implementation of other annual giving projects, including fall appeal, Tributes & Tradition and year-end appeals.
- Host at least two Alumni Board gatherings that allow our members alumni to stay connected and knowledgeable of the current happenings around SLUH.
- Plan and execute Fr. Hagan Alumni Golf event.
- Assist with planning and execution of SLUH Advancement events as needed, including Scholarship Golf Classic, award luncheons, CASHBAH, etc.
- Maintain the alumni portion of SLUH website and calendar, and provide dynamic and succinct communication through direct mail, social media, other digital channels and speaking opportunities.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Desire to support the Jesuit Catholic mission of St. Louis U. High, especially the school's commitment to securing resources for the region's most generous financial aid program.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and to engage a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Proficient with design software such as Canva or ability and willingness to learn and adapt quickly.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Foster close working relationships with key alumni volunteers.
- Creativity for problem solving and volunteer engagement.
- Adept in handling multiple projects simultaneously.
Essential Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least three years of experience, preferably a fundraising office in an educational institution. Experience in fundraising, marketing, business development, project management or related fields are preferred.
- Experience with data entry and management in CRMs (Raiser's Edge preferred).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to provide physical support for events and gatherings, including a significant amount of walking.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
