Delivers training for new processes or equipment and onboard new employees. Additionally, Assembly Supervisor conducts quality testing on completed assemblies to validate tolerances and product specifications. Reviews daily assembly production records to identify trends or potential performance issues. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Assembly Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Assembly Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Job Summary:

    We are looking for an Assembly Supervisor to oversee and coordinate production and daily assembly activities. This role involves implementing organizational policies and driving process improvements to ensure efficient and high-quality operations.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supervise line leads, assemblers, and testers.
    • Drive positive change using continuous improvement tools, teamwork, and shop floor metrics (quality, cost, delivery, safety, and 5S).
    • Identify, analyze, and solve assembly process issues.
    • Plan, assign, and direct work, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, address complaints, and resolve problems.
    • Utilize resources to meet delivery dates and quality standards.
    • Oversee and schedule personnel and activities.
    • Implement and monitor productivity improvements, such as cycle time and cost reduction measures.
    • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and resolve safety issues promptly.
    • Coordinate manpower requirements to meet changing conditions.
    • Verify and update operational methods and ISO procedures, maintaining effective training programs.
    • Lead by example and demonstrate strong leadership.
    • Assist in developing and sustaining a safety program and culture.
    • Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Recruit, train, and coach employees.


    Qualifications:

    • Working knowledge of medical and industrial assembly and testing, materials, quality programs, safety programs, and resource management.
    • Understanding of basic production planning and inventory concepts.
    • Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Standards and progressive disciplinary processes.
    • Proficiency in using measuring devices (micrometers, thread gages, etc.).
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to read and understand blueprints and documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Basic math skills and the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Working knowledge of ADP is a plus.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish is advantageous.
    • Lead by example and demonstrate personal integrity and a strong work ethic.


    Experience and Training:

    • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience in operations, including medical or industrial assembly activities and supervisory experience.
    • 3-5 years of experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Associate degree in Sciences, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent industry experience is desired but not required.


    Physical Demands:

    • Ability to bend, turn, twist, and lift up to 40 lbs.


    Work Environment:

    • Fast-paced assembly manufacturing environment.
    • Moderate noise levels.
    • Temperature-controlled office and manufacturing areas.
    • Personal protective equipment (PPE) as required within the facility.
