Summary
The Recreation Services Assistant (RSA) plays a crucial role in ensuring that Green Valley Recreation Facilities are open, set up, and closed down for the membership. The role of the RSA is not just about preparing centers for events, classes, and reservations across the Green Valley Recreation centers. It's about working independently or as part of a team, performing on-site facility checks to ensure a safe and friendly environment for all GVR members and their guests. The RSA also supports employees and members in day-to-day recreational activities and functions, making them feel valued and integral to the organization.
Our Recreation Services Assistants are always on the move, from one center set-up to the next. This position is perfect for an active individual who enjoys acts of service. There is not a typical day for an RSA, as every day will bring different interactions and reservations. This role involves travel between our 15 recreation centers; setting up and taking down events (tables and chairs), cleaning and upkeep of the center, and engagement with the members (consistent rounds, offering assistance as needed, and maintaining a friendly atmosphere). Even though most jobs require moving around, there is some need to be on a computer, so knowledge in this area is necessary. This dynamic nature of the role ensures that every day is different, keeping the job interesting and engaging.
We’re open seven days a week. Full-time employees work MondayFriday. Part-time employees are typically scheduled on Saturday and Sunday while occasionally covering holidays and shifts during the week. Our on-call employees cover shifts for both part-time and full-time RSAs. Our shifts are 5am-1:30pm or 1:00pm-9:30pm.
