Unit Mission Statement
The Department of Campus Recreation mission is to provide quality recreational opportunities to all members of the William & Mary Community to enhance and foster a lifelong appreciation for health, wellness and recreation.
Position Summary
The Campus Recreation Assistant will work in support of facility operations and/or program and service delivery. This may include frontline customer service related to daily operations of the Bee McLeod Recreation Center, or support for Campus Recreation programs and services. Assignments will depend on departmental needs and applicant’s skills, experience and background.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a customer service setting where excellent communication skills were required;
- Proven flexibility and adaptability in work situations.

Conditions of Employment
- The position is designed to supplement the student workforce over holiday breaks, summer sessions and between semesters. Early mornings and late night shifts are possible.

All hourly employees are subject to the limitations of the Virginia Manpower Control Program and total hours worked may not exceed, 1400 hours, on average, 29 hours per week, over the course of a twelve (12) month period beginning May 1 each year. Pooled hourly position.
This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.
