Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Computer Science typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field.     Responsibilities

    • A standard nine-month teaching load is expected, as outlined in . Some summer teaching may be required.
    • Participate in Entrepreneurial innovation and problem-solving with students.
    • Engage in graduate student mentoring, fostering their growth and development as part of a collaborative work environment.
    • Work with the Department Chair, Dean, and other faculty in the Computing department regarding curriculum and program development.
    • Be a team player who works collaboratively towards undergraduate and graduate program success.
    • Perform defined campus-wide duties, including holding office hours, attendance at department and division meetings, and service on committees and/or outreach programs.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications

    • Master's degree in related field with at least five (5) years of industry experience required, Ph.D. with industry experience preferred.
    • Demonstrated abilities and employment experience in Software Engineering is preferred.
    • Successful teaching experience at the college or university level is preferred (especially at graduate level).
    • Extensive knowledge of Software Engineering practices, project leadership, full-stack web and mobile application development.
    • Experience with user experience design is highly desirable.
    • Ability to develop innovative curriculum and appropriate course content and teach under a variety of teaching situations including day, night, and online courses.
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and mentoring skills and experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to work well with other faculty, staff, and students and contribute to a team environment.
    • Ability to communicate clearly with students, staff, and colleagues orally and in writing.

    POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time (9-month) tenure-track faculty position. Faculty service begins July 1, 2024. Annual salary commensurate with qualifications & experience.
