Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Education typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks.     Purpose: The Early Childhood Professional Development Senior Director is responsible for overseeing the implementation, administration, and evaluation of the T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® INDIANA project, Non Formal CDA, and the CDA Support Services 


    Position Status: Full Time/Exempt


    Reports To: Executive Director


    Classification: Executive Senior Director


    Qualifications:

    1. A Master’s degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field is required. A doctorate degree is strongly preferred.
    2. Minimum of five years of experience in the early childhood profession and three years of administrative responsibilities. Eight years or more is strongly preferred.
    3. Experience in leadership and demonstrated strong skills in grant management, program implementation, ECE and OST professional development, coaching, and technical assistance.
    4. Applicant will be subject to a criminal history check as required by the IN FSSA, Office of Early Childhood, and Out of School Learning.
    5. Demonstrated ability to work well with a diverse client population.
    6. Ability to assume responsibility for completion of assignments.
    7. Strong Microsoft Office skills. FileMaker Pro experience a plus. 
    8. Ability to travel statewide. 

    Requirements

      

      

    1. Staff Supervision: Interview, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate the Early Childhood Professional Development Project Directors and CDA Support Specialist. 
    2. Support the professional development of early childhood educators in Licensed Child Care Centers, Family Child Care Homes, Registered Child Care Ministries, Paths to Quality, CCDF-certified facilities, and Career and Technical High School Students pursuing early childhood education.
    3. Oversee and provide professional development and leadership to the Early Childhood Professional Development Department Staff.
    4. Operations/Management: Approval of all T.E.A.C.H., Non Formal CDA and CDA operations, supports, and scholarships. Oversee the development of a work plan, including marketing and resource development. 
    5. Assist the INAEYC Executive Director in the development and diversification of the funding base.
    6. Oversee all Early Childhood Professional Development departments' marketing efforts.
    7. Outreach: Coordination of in and out-of-state communications and dissemination of materials, presentations, and technical assistance. INAEYC Professional Development Advisory Committee: Coordinate the Professional Development Advisory Committee that serves as the T.E.A.C.H. Advisory Committee. 
    8. Reporting: Coordinate the monthly T.E.A.C.H. reports and the T.E.A.C.H. National Technical Assistance Center      Reports. Report monthly to the Executive Director the status of scholarships, supports, and outcomes for the Early Childhood Professional Development Department.
    9. Direct progress toward meeting grant performance objectives and outcomes.
    10. Submit at least one innovative proposal during the Grant period, for State review, with strategies to support new childcare professionals in attaining their Child Development Associate Credentials.
    11. Revise, develop, and implement state and local corrective action plans as needed to meet the department outcomes. 
    12. Oversee the development and implementation of the T.E.A.C.H. Project, Non Formal CDA and CDA Supports, and all evaluation efforts.
    13. Set obtainable yet ambitious goals and outcomes for T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® INDIANA project staff in coordination with the T.E.A.C.H. Director.    
    14. Facilitate the Indiana Higher Education Forum and Planning Committee in coordination with the T.E.A.C.H. Director.
    15. Represent INAEYC Early Childhood Professional Development Department and T.E.A.C.H. on various statewide boards, advisory committees, and workgroups.
    16. Serve as OECOSL’s point of contact for ECPD project performance outcomes; and participate in all state, provider, and partner meetings as requested by OECOSL
    17. Participate in state-level planning rough for Paths to QUALITY™ and other initiatives.
    18. Work closely with the state Technical Assistance Vendor and the Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies to support the early childhood workforce. 
    19. Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
    20. Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
