Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks.     Position Announcement

    The University of Oregon School of Law invites applications from entry-level candidates for a tenure-track assistant professor position focusing on Environmental Law and Climate Justice. The position, which begins in August 2024, will be part of the University’s multi-disciplinary Environmental Initiative (https://environment.uoregon.edu/) and the Law School’s nationally ranked Environmental and Natural Resources Law Center (https://law.uoregon.edu/academics/centers/enr). Applicants must have scholarship, teaching, and/or research experience, and/or practice expertise in Environmental Law or related fields. Candidates employing any research methodology or approach are welcome to apply.

    Successful candidates must be able to work effectively with students, staff, and faculty with a range of disciplinary perspectives, culturally diverse backgrounds, and multiple intersectional identities, as well as be able to help advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the University community.

    Minimum Requirements

    • JD from an accredited law school or equivalent degree;
    • Record of academic excellence, demonstrated expertise, and success or the potential for success in producing outstanding scholarship regarding Environmental Law or related fields;
    • Scholarship, teaching, and/or research experience, and/or practice expertise in Environmental Law or related fields.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Preference will be given to applicants with substantial scholarship, teaching, research experience, and/or practice expertise in Environmental Law and Climate Justice.
