Assoc. Professor - Mathematics teaches courses in the discipline area of mathematics. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Mathematics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Mathematics typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Position Description
The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Mathematics seeks applicants for a temporary Assistant Adjunct Professor position to teach mathematics courses that supports the 2 2 Program and the Purple Pathways Program, starting in August 2024. The successful candidate will teach a full semester section of the online (methods) course MATH 3203 Teaching Mathematics in the Elementary School for the 2 2 Program and a half-semester online section of the (methods) course ELSPED 3203 Teaching Mathematics in the Elementary School for the UNI Purple Pathways Program. This position is eligible to be performed remotely within the state of Iowa. Employees approved for remote work must comply with the requirements of our remote work policy and agreement.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in elementary education with a mathematics background or related discipline from an accredited institution required.
Required Qualifications
Online teaching experience required.
Desirable Qualifications
