Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES – The Chief of Surgery Services, a seasoned healthcare leader, holds full accountability for the round-the-clock operations of Surgical Services. This pivotal role entails overseeing staff recruitment, shaping service strategies, and fostering a patient-centric culture within the organization. Responsibilities span various facets of patient care, emphasizing the maintenance of clinical excellence and ensuring optimal staffing levels for top-tier patient outcomes. Active involvement in committees, workgroups, and meetings is essential, with a focus on aligning services with the organization's Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan.

REPORTS TO: Chief Nursing Officer
SUPERVISES: Surgical Services Personnel

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Ensuring adherence to safety protocols, promoting safe practices, and demonstrating proficiency in safety policies.
• Implementing robust budgeting processes to ensure fiscal prudence within the designated service line.
• Providing effective leadership and human resource management within the service line's purview.
• Ensuring compliance with pertinent laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
• Championing positive clinical outcomes through effective supervision and care assessment.
• Cultivating an environment of inclusivity, ethical clinical practice, and conflict resolution.
• Developing and enforcing policies, procedures, and care standards.
• Prioritizing customer satisfaction and facilitating strategic service line growth.
• Pursuing ongoing professional development and performance enhancement.
• Serving as a representative of the organization in the local and regional community.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency in patient care and population management.
• Demonstrated expertise in leadership, communication, and interpersonal relations.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting, making informed decisions.
• Minimum of an associate's degree in healthcare leadership, with a preference for a bachelor's degree.
• Five years of experience in relevant healthcare practice, including at least two years in a leadership capacity.
• Valid healthcare license within the region of responsibility.
• Possession of relevant certifications and licensures.

Pay: $93,372.00 - $125,927.00 per year
