    Director of Nursing, ICU/Emergency Room

    Summary

    The Director of Emergency Services (Registered Nurse) at our Award Winning Client is responsible for leading the Emergency Services Departments through the management of clinical, financial, and human resources. This role involves planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating nursing practices that align with the mission of our Award Winning Client and Patient Care Services. The Director must showcase excellent technical skills, critical thinking, initiative, integrity, accuracy, and compassion in delivering quality nursing care in a multidisciplinary practice environment. Additionally, this role oversees Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Response planning and preparation for the organization.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead in the development and evaluation of nursing personnel.
    • Maintain operations of patient care units.
    • Promote teamwork between departments to ensure the provision of safe, high-quality nursing care.
    • Serve as a role model for professional nursing practice and behavior.
    • Encourage care that protects patient dignity and strives to improve the patient experience.
    • Support quality, education, research, and quality improvement efforts.
    • Exhibit expertise in motivating the nursing team towards a common goal of providing safe, quality patient care.
    • Supervise care delivery in a fiscally responsible manner.
    • Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate nursing practices.
    • Demonstrate excellent technical skills, critical thinking, initiative, integrity, accuracy, and compassion.
    • Oversee Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Response planning and preparation for the organization.

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Required: B.A./B.S. in Nursing
    • Preferred: MSN (must be started within 6 months and completed within 2 years from the start of the program)

    Experience

    • Required: 5 years of hospital clinical experience and 2-3 years in a management/leadership role

    Certifications

    • Required: Active California R.N. license, Healthcare Provider BLS upon hire, TNCC, ACLS, and PALS within 6 months of hire
    • Preferred: CCRN or CEN
