Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Nursing typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Description
This is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible, tenure track position. The position would serve as 100% faculty for the College of Nursing. This position is supervised by the College of Nursing Assistant Dean and will be based at one of the following College of Nursing sites: Brookings, Sioux Falls, or Rapid City.

Key Responsibilities
Faculty members plan, implement, and evaluate assigned courses either as an individual assignment or as a member of a teaching team.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing;
- A Ph.D. in nursing or related field, completed by start date;
- One graduate degree must be in nursing;
- Potential for (Assistant Professor) or demonstrated record (Associate or Full) of excellence in teaching;
- Potential for (Assistant Professor) or demonstrated record (Associate or Full) of excellence in research/scholarship;
- Licensed by the South Dakota Board of Nursing or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse as evidenced by current licensure in another state;
- Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills;
- Valid driver’s license, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire, and willingness to travel.
- Teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels.;
- A history of successfully funded research and relevant clinical practice;
- Active program of research and dissemination;
- Experience with simulation technology and distance delivery;
- Demonstrated potential or ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams;
- Evidence of service to the nursing profession;
- Degree education from more than one degree granting institution.
