Great opportunity for people who is willing to work in Transport team of Salvos Stores. ABOUT THE ROLE Salvos Stores Central Sydney Centre is in the Metropolitan Area of Sydney NSW. Our Transport team needs a Truck Offsider to provide support in assisting adequate pickup and delivery service for the Stores as well as the customers in line with The Salvation Army (TSA) Salvos Stores mission and values. Roles & Responsibilities Help truck drivers to co-ordinate the pickup and delivery of all donated goods in accordance with written schedule, following WHS Manual Handling procedures and other protocols. Assist in co-ordinating all furniture, goods and clothing being delivered to the Stores by the TSA vehicles, to retail or storage area as well as providing store rubbish pickup as needed. Help to operate the vehicle in a safe and effective manner in order to minimise the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life and ensure appropriate maintenance/service and cleanliness of vehicles. Help in warehouse duties when required, such as sorting donations, baling of rags, etc. Drive small vehicles for which your vehicle license is allowed ABOUT YOU An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army. Appropriate and valid driver’s licence Willing to take any professional development as required to maintain skills for the role. Willingness to undergo a Criminal History Check WHS knowledge of work health safety obligations and to practice these in the workplace in line with TSA policy & procedures and legislation. Proven experience in the recycling/transport industry is desirable Physically fit, self-motivated and a strong work ethic Sound presentation and communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact and network positively with a variety of people Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively Team player, flexible with a positive attitude.
