Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks.     Duties and Responsibilities 

    • Direct and oversee processes pertaining to the curriculum development, implementation, evaluation, and improvement for the medical undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate or continuing education programs.
    • Mentor, teach, and advise medical students, graduate students, post-graduate residents and faculty in clinical, research, and scholarly activities.
    • Supervise and collaborate with a team working in medical undergraduate and graduate programs.  
    • May serve as Associate Chair of Medical Education.
    • Other scholarly duties as assigned. 
    Minimum Qualifications 
    • MD/DO degree or equivalent medical degree from a medical or osteopathic school of recognized standing by date of hire
    • Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine, (Board eligible/certified in Internal Medicine) and recertification when appropriate by date of hire
    • Valid Hawai‘i medical license by date of hire
    • Demonstrated ability in teaching, advising, and clinical care
    • Evidence of effective research, scholarly activity, or medical education   administration is required
    • Familiarity with curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation
    • Excellent communication skills, written and spoken with faculty and students
    • Familiar with Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) and Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements
    Desirable Qualifications 
    • Demonstrated experience with curriculum development and evaluation. 
    • Completion of the Office of Medical Education Fellowship
