Associate Dean of Continuing Education jobs in Arkansas

Associate Dean of Continuing Education assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of continuing education. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Continuing Education provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Continuing Education typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Continuing Education typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The Continuing Education Specialist serves as the program manager in the area in which the job is assigned. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of a program area(s) within the Continuing Education Division and Workforce Development Division.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for developing course schedules including course selection, coordination of facilities, organization, production and distribution of class schedules, brochures and various forms of advertisement to increase student enrollment.
    • Evaluates enrollment and makes decisions regarding class status (continuation or cancellation).
    • Directs, plans, prioritizes, and implements support staff initiatives and daily operations.
    • Responsible for managing the processes of course preparation from development to implementation, instructor preparation, and student registration functions.
    • Establishes and maintains partnerships with community organizations and other entities to leverage resources to support and market the assigned program.
    • Responsible for all aspects of NPC’s Summer Camps.
    • Assist with contract production and general accounting functions.
    • Manage assigned budget within allocation.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Required skills/abilities:

    • Exceptional customer service skills in person, in writing, and over the phone
    • Must be punctual and dependable
    • Must maintain confidentiality when working with corporate clients
    • A strong desire to learn and be part of a fast-paced team


    Education and Experience:

    • Associate Degree required, Bachelor degree preferred
    • At least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
    • Database experience
    • Intermediate skills in MS Excel spreadsheets
    • Experience with MS Word, Publisher, and Power Point
    • Experience assisting in social media marketing, website maintenance, creating flyers for classes and event planning
    • Intermediate accounting skills
    • Record maintenance experience
    • Previous experience in a higher education or corporate setting


    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
    • Prolonged periods of standing at times
    • Prolonged screen time
    • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
