    POSITION SUMMARY:
    The Dean of the College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS) provides oversight and strategic leadership for the growth and expansion of the University’s online, accelerated and hybrid learning programs. The position directs the division collaboratively across academic programs to provide holistic learning opportunities and equitable educational and career outcomes for students. The Dean oversees and leads a university-wide operational infrastructure that aligns excellence in teaching and learning, responsive course and program development, faculty training and development, and support for faculty and instructional staff for equitable opportunity and academic goal attainment for students.
    The Dean of the College of Adult and Graduate Studies is a full-time (12 month) faculty and administrative position with the benefits, policies, and procedures as set forth by the University by performing the following duties.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Serve as the Chairperson of the Faculty of the College of Adult and Graduate Studies and a voting member of the Faculty Senate.
    • Provide strategic leadership for the growth and data driven expansion of a portfolio of high quality online, hybrid, and accelerated programs.
    • Oversee operational procedures, division policies, instructional design, course development, faculty training and development, quality assurance, course planning, media, and delivery of all online, hybrid and graduate programs. Measure and analyze the impact of operations for continuous improvement.
    • Ensure direct alignment of program student learning outcomes, course objectives, and course assessment objectives.
    • Lead, design, and develop a comprehensive learning delivery philosophy and operating model through multiple accessible modalities.
    • Collaborate with interdepartmental stakeholders on college-wide curricular, teaching/learning, and assessment/evaluation initiatives.
    • Research, recommend and facilitate the implementation of new instructional technology tools, including the deployment of virtual reality (VR) and Augmented Realty (AR).
    • Collaborate with IT Services in making improvements to the learning management system and supporting faculty and students.
    • In conjunction with Enrollment, Marketing, the Vice-President of Academic Affairs, and the Executive Vice-President, implement strategic priorities and programs through completion of ongoing needs assessment/gap analysis on teaching excellence and program effectiveness.
    • Exercise leadership in achieving optimal organizational efficiency and effectiveness, including initiatives to improve work processes, enhance system, staff performance, and revenues.
    • Develop, oversee, analyze, and make budget decisions in alignment with University strategy, values and priorities. Forecast funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies.
    • Ensure institutional compliance with federal/state/University regulations, policies, and guidelines related to academics, and communicates the impact of potential legal or regulatory changes to the Vice-President of Academic Affairs.
    • Reviews faculty and staffing performances in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies programs, submitting reviews to the Vice-President of Academic Affairs.
    • Serves on institutional committees and task forces as assigned.
    • Performs all other duties as directed by the Vice-President of Academic Affairs.


    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Directly supervises all faculty in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies in consultation with the Vice President of Academic Affairs and also provides oversight of the CAGS Program Coordinators and Curriculum Services staff.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
    Doctoral degree (Ph. D.) or equivalent; or more than 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Need experience with graduate study programs and must be familiar with non-traditional education programs.
