Associate Dean of Law jobs in District of Columbia
Associate Dean of Law assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of law. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Law provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Law typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Law typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be an Associate Dean of Law typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Applicants must demonstrate litigation experience, including preparing for trial, keeping case files up to date, drafting form pleadings (from templates), proposed orders, preparing exhibits, cite checking/proofreading briefs, case tracking in high volume filing cases and familiarity with PACER, Westlaw, court rules and electronic filing. Applicants must also demonstrate experience using Power Point, Canva/Adobe Photoshop/HTML and other visual presentation software to develop presentations, infographics and other advocacy materials.
Educational requirements: B.A. or higher.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
