Associate Dean of Mathematics jobs in Florida
Associate Dean of Mathematics assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of mathematics. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Mathematics provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Mathematics typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Mathematics typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. - Collaborate with faculty members to develop and revise curriculum, ensuring alignment with industry standards and student needs.
- Lead recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of faculty and staff within the Mathematics department.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the department.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements, including those set forth by the Florida College System and SACSCOC.
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field required. Doctoral degree preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a college environment, including 4 years of college-level teaching experience.
- At least 4 years of supervisory experience at the department chair level or higher in a post-secondary setting.
- Familiarity with the Florida College System and SACSCOC or other regional accreditation agency policies and procedures preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and administrators.
