Associate Dean of Sciences assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of science. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Sciences provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, the School Dean for Allied Health Sciences functions as the academic leader of the school, providing leadership over the management of applicable academic programs, courses and faculty. The Dean will maintain a broad perspective of school needs, talent management, and curriculum development across multiple instructional campuses and sites, in order to support high quality instruction and student success. The School of Allied Health includes the following areas/programs: Practical Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Assisting, Opticianry, Certified Nurse Aide, Surgical Technology, Health Information Management Technology, Physical Therapy, Neuromuscular Therapy. The dean promotes Allied Health Sciences academic programs to public and private organizations and supervises academic personnel, programs and services. The dean ensures the consistent exercise, review and revision of academic policies, procedures, rules and regulations;. Promotes the instructional program to public and private organizations; works with Human Resources personnel to coordinate new faculty and staff hires; verifies appropriate faculty qualifications; oversees accreditation attainment and continuance activities; recommends curriculum changes, program additions and program terminations in the applicable academic division to the supervisor; reviews quarterly course evaluations by students; reviews staff development plans of division faculty and staff; reviews and approves all requests for supplies and materials, including all curriculum materials for the program;. Oversees enrollment and registration processes; manages and oversees financial/budget operation of the department; monitors the activities of personnel to ensure compliance with TCSG policy manual and department procedures; evaluates employees at scheduled intervals upon reviewing of all relevant information; develops and/or assists with the development of policies and procedures and recommends changes to effectively meet the goals and requirements of the program; maintains up-to-date policies, procedures, and state or federal laws that may impact department initiatives;. conducts regular evaluation of services provided and make adjustments as needed.
