Associate Dean of Sciences assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of science. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Sciences provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Sciences typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Sciences typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Job Description
    This position directs and manages the nursing and health sciences programs and activities. The Dean provides leadership in the areas accreditation, curriculum development, data analysis and evaluation, and planning. This position involves significant discretion and substantial involvement in the development, interpretation and implementation of College policy, as well as Minnesota Board of Nursing policy, and ACEN accreditation policy. This position also serves as part of the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College supervisory group and works in the best interest of Fond du Lac Tribal and Community college and the Minnesota State system of colleges and universities.

    Required Qualifications
    • Master’s Degree in Nursing
    • Registered Nurse, CPR
    • Minimum of three year’s nursing experience at the professional level
    • Minimum of two year’s college teaching experience


    Preferred Qualifications
    • Doctorate in Nursing Education preferred
    • Simulation Certification
    • Experience with nursing accreditation
    • Experience with nursing curriculum development and related evaluation practices
    • Experience working with faculty in a continuous improvement environment
    • Experience working with tribal communities and/or culturally and philosophically diverse student populations
    • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills appropriate to a professional academic environment

    In accordance with the Minnesota State’s Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
