Position Summary
The Associate Campus Pastor (ACP) will be a multi-faceted leader, cultivating a warm and inviting environment for guests while fostering deeper connections within the existing congregation. The ACP will also help people engage more deeply in the church's ministry through small groups, serving teams, events and programs, and personal discipleship. To accomplish this work, the ACP will recruit, build, and manage a strong team of volunteers while supporting and encouraging their spiritual growth and development.
This position will play a pivotal role in shaping the spiritual growth of the people on their campus and of Menlo Church as a whole. Through their leadership and volunteer teams, the ACP will foster a culture where everyone—guests, attendees, and church members—feels loved, supported, and encouraged to take the next step in their relationship with God.
This is meant to be a developmental role that will work closely with the campus pastor (CP). The ACP will assist the CP as needed in areas of campus leadership, including care, worship leadership, and project management. The CP will work with the ACP to develop skills and experience so they will be well-rounded and prepared for future ministry leadership in various settings.
Essential Functions- Work as a cohesive and supportive member of the campus team to further Menlo Church's vision.
- Collaborate with the central Spiritual Formation team and other central staff as needed.
- Implement the Spiritual Formation strategy, inviting people into the church and guiding them to take the next step in their relationship with God.
- Be a visible and active presence on campus during program times. Build relationships with the congregation, volunteer staff, and especially visitors beyond Sunday worship. Be available for follow-up meetings, times of prayer, etc. 5. Recruit, lead, develop, and manage leaders and coaches for your ministry areas.
- Oversee hospitality and guest services in conjunction with worship services. 7. Manage first-time guest follow-up through Planning Center workflows. 8. Communicate with volunteers through various channels appropriately and consistently.
- Promptly assist congregants in finding an appropriate next step of connection (Life Group, serving team, event, program, etc.).
- Execute environments and strategic events with excellence, including Discover Menlo and Menlo Next, consistent with Menlo's strategy and plan for assimilation. 11. Support the CP in assisting with primary pastoral care and referrals as needed and appropriate. Assist with memorials as appropriate.
- Work with campus admins and central leaders to keep gathering spaces and decor functional, fresh, inviting, and clutter-free.
- Additional duties and special projects as assigned.

- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Asana, and Planning Center Online (PCO)
- Comfortable learning new technology, software, and applications
- College degree (ministry, biblical & theological studies preferred)
- Must have some experience working in ministry, either on staff or as a volunteer (multi-site context preferred)
- Experience overseeing and developing others
- Demonstrated experience recruiting volunteers
- Proficient communication, able to speak clearly and be understood by others.Identifying and understanding the speech of another person.
- Stand or sit for prolonged amounts of time
- Walk, bend, twist, and kneel
- Walking up and down stairs (SM only)
- Finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus
- Lift and carry up to 20 pounds with or without assistance
- Must have an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Must have compatible theology in alignment with ECO essential tenets
- Must be pursuing or active in a community of believers who can speak truth into your life
- Must attend Menlo Church worship service regularly and be an active participant in the entire life of Menlo Church
- Days and hours of work are generally business hours Sunday-Thursday with occasional evenings, Fridays, and Saturdays as needed
- Regular work hours include office hours at one's designated campus according to established staff rhythms, which currently includes Tuesday All-Staff from 9a-5p at the Menlo Park campus.
- This job typically operates in a professional office & church environment with standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and telephones. There are also instances when the role will include off-site visits to meet volunteers and congregation members.
