Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Participate in implementing, evaluating, and revising the didactic and clinical phase curriculum.
- Participate in all aspects of the ARC-PA provisional accreditation process.
- Serve as course director for assigned didactic courses. The Program Director assigns all course directors.
- Identify and instruct appropriate lecturers for didactic courses.
- Instruct PA students in areas of knowledge and expertise.
- Participate in academic advising of PA students.
- Participate in the admissions process.
- Participate in laboratory instruction during the didactic and clinical phases of the program.
- Participate in student evaluation by grading written assignments, written examinations, OSCEs, practical skill competencies, oral presentations, or other assessment methods.
- Participate in faculty meetings, retreats, and committees as assigned.
- Maintain NCCPA certification and/or medical license.
- Participate in appropriate local, state, and national physician assistant professional associations.
- Participate in clinical practice or research activities depending on position. To be determined by the department Program Director.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity to be a role model for physician assistant students.
- Active involvement in community service and/or service learning associated with the program.
- Serve as Program Coordinator for the identification, planning, implementation, and review of program-sponsored service projects.
- Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director.
Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an Accredited PA Program, medical doctoral degree or doctor of osteopathic medicine
Licensed or eligible for licensure in related clinical practice field
Current board certification in related clinical practice field
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree in the medical field or education, with teaching experiences.
Experience of 3 to 5 years of clinical practice in clinical practice field of board certification or licensure
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to exercise good judgement and discipline.
- Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to efficiently and effectively work in a fast - paced environment with multiple responsibilities .
- Ability to prioritize work load; meet deadlines and foster a willingness to continuously learn and grow professionally to excel at one's highest capacity.
- Work is primarily in a classroom setting. Some clinical instruction will be required.
- Exposure to physical risk and physical effort as expected in a clinical setting.
