Position Summary:
LaMotte is searching for a Multi-Site Engineering Manager for the Newark, DE and Chestertown, MD facilities. This person should be hands-on and possess the discipline to work towards a vision as well as being an excellent team player with a positive attitude. The Multi-Site Engineering Manager reports to the Vice President of Operations & Quality and will oversee and direct all aspects of engineering. Direct reports to this position will include Production/Process and MDP Engineers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Engineering
1. Evaluates manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with equipment vendors and soliciting observations from internal stakeholders.
2. Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with LaMotte’s R&D department and equipment vendors as needed.
3. Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
4. Manages company CapEx budget and provides written justification for capital expenditures including purchasing, installing/validating new equipment and constructing new or upgrading existing production areas.
5. Works closely with outside contractors and equipment vendors and manages projects and programs associated with them.
6. Complies with government regulations as they apply to manufacturing engineering and the Company in general.
Supervisory
1. Leads and demonstrates that safety is always our first consideration in all we do; personally works safely and helps protect the safety of those around her/him
2. Coaches and develops staff, while fostering a team atmosphere. Provides pep talks as needed and coaching for any performance issues.
3. Assists employees with questions or problems they have regarding work assignments, priorities, safety, personnel issues, etc.
4. Counsels employees when necessary and recommends to Management such personnel actions as disciplinary action, transfer, promotion, termination of employment, etc. Documents any issues, counseling efforts, etc.
5. Oversees training and orientation of new employees and offers additional training as needed. Offers re-training when necessary. Sets up and maintains cross training, as applicable.
6. Serves as a role model to all employees. Conducts oneself professionally and abides by Company safety & personnel policies, SOPs, etc.
Miscellaneous:
1. Complies with all Company policies (i.e. safety, quality delivery, inventory & productivity).
2. Leads and actively participates in OpEx activities and encourages staff to do the same.
3. Provide Vice President of Operations & Quality with feedback to determine where additional training would benefit staff or him/herself, and if approved makes arrangements for training to be completed.
4. Maintains professional affiliations as appropriate and attends educational programs, seminars and workshops to keep abreast of manufacturing engineering and related regulations.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus; licensed PE a plus
· 3 to 5 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing utilizing electro-mechanical systems, with key experiences in the following:
a. Evaluating, specifying, negotiating, and commissioning of capital equipment
b. Leading continuous improvement and lean manufacturing programs
· Strong combination of technical, leadership, written & oral communication, team collaboration and interpersonal skills
· Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills
· Proficiency in managing projects & programs and maintaining metrics
· Knowledge and experience relating to building infrastructure and modifications
· Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to equipment shows and equipment vendors
Environmental/Physical Factors: Primarily works indoors in temperature-controlled environment. However, may occasionally be subject to outside environment when working with staff or outside contractors on HVAC, compressors, and other equipment outside of building, or when assisting with snow removal, and may occasionally work in confined areas or high places. Primarily requires walking, climbing, kneeling, stooping, bending, driving, transporting up to 25 pounds and using a computer. Must be able to travel to equipment shows & vendors as needed via day trips or overnight trips traveling by car, shuttle, train, plane, etc.
