Asst. Professor - Civil Engineering teaches courses in the discipline area of civil engineering. Professor - Civil Engineering provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Civil Engineering typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and contributes to research In a specialized field.     Duties:

    Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses as assigned by the civil engineering department head; developing and maintaining internationally recognized externally funded research; pursuing scholarly activities and leading student organizations; maintaining and improving labs for the civil engineering department.

    Required Qualifications:

    • A Ph.D. degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited institution
    • An ability to initiate and sustain a successful externally funded research program
    • An ability or potential for excellence in teaching and research at the undergraduate and graduate levels
    • PE license in Montana or the ability to become licensed in Montana within three years of employment
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • College teaching experience
    • Postdoctoral or industrial experience
