    Our organization is looking to fill an on-demand Hmong interpreter position to help serve the Limited English Proficient population in our communities through language services. In addition to part-time hours, we offer our interpreters the ability to work on-demand hours as their availability allows.

    This is a hybrid role where you will take mostly in-person appointments, so we require you to live in the Sheboygan, WI area. We provide In-person, video (VRI) and telephonic (OPI) interpreter services to our customers in the medical, educational and judicial fields. Most appointments are between 9AM - 5PM weekdays but we can be flexible as this is an ON-DEMAND position so hours may be infrequent at times.

    Required Qualifications

    We offer interpreter training to bilinguals that meet the following qualifications:

    • Advanced proficiency (written and verbal) in both English and the language pair.
    • Cross-cultural sensitivity and must work well in a diverse team
    • Pass a background check and pre employment testing
    • COVID and other vaccines may be required for this position due to working in hospital environments where it is mandatory for staff to have them.
    • Demonstrate responsibility and good time management
    • Ability to maintain professional boundaries
    • Willingness and ability to maintain HIPAA confidentiality rules
    • Self-directed, responsible, and ability to maintain record of hours worked
    • Detail oriented and good communicator
    • Automobile and valid US driver’s license

    Desirable Qualifications

    • 1-2 years experience as an interpreter in the language pair
    • Experience working with school districts, government agencies, healthcare providers, case managers, youth and family services, or a combination thereof
