Audiologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a variety of hearing, balance, and ear disorders. Administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, speech reception, and discrimination tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Being an Audiologist evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and other professionals. Reviews charts, test results, and other patient data to understand issues and develop treatment programs to alleviate symptoms and treat disorders. Additionally, Audiologist monitors and evaluates treatment progress and adjusts care plan as necessary. Programs, fits, and adjusts hearing aids for customers. May require Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) in some states. Requires a master's degree in audiology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Audiologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Position Description:
We are seeking a Licensed Audiologist to assist with completing evaluations on Veterans of the US Military. This position requires reviewing medical records via a secure digital portal and completing an assessment at each encounter.
The audiology exam process includes reporting findings through a web-based portal created by the VA. The online forms will provide an exact outline of what information is to be reported. The exam process only includes reporting exam findings and will not require treating the Veterans or making any further determination as to the Veterans disability status.
The right candidate will be able to identify relevant information from the medical records, and after testing, will be able to form a medical opinion as to the current status of the claimed condition. There is a need to work efficiently through the assessments as reporting should be completed and submitted in 24 hours.
Daily volume averages 5-6 Veterans in an 8-hour shift and compensation is not dependent on daily volume or cancellations/no-shows. We pay for all scheduled shifts unless the provider cancels the day for any reason.
This position is offered for an independent contractor (1099).
