Automotive Glass Installer/Repairer jobs in Connecticut
Automotive Glass Installer/Repairer checks, installs, and repairs damaged glass parts of vehicles. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being an Automotive Glass Installer/Repairer may be required to be licensed or to complete an apprenticeship in an area of specialty. Requires 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Automotive Glass Installer/Repairer has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. This company specializes in shower doors, glass for table tops, insulated glass units for doors and windows, mirrors for cabinet doors, re-screen used screens and mirrors cut to size. The new hire must know how to read and measure with a measuring tape. He/she must be able to lift heavy glass, shower doors, mirrors and boxes. Must know how to speak and write in English. Be punctual. Will be trained on how to use polishing machines. Must have knowledge in hand tools and tape measures. Candidate must have a valid driver's license, speak English and be authorized to work in the U.S.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in construction; at least 6 months related experience/training
- Ability to measure accurately and use tape measures and levels to measure for new windows and glass including proper framing/visual components to ensure the glass is sealed properly
- Ability to read and understand measure/drawing documents and perform necessary tasks
- Experience using power tools such as drills and saws
- Excellent communication skills, Positive attitude along with the ability to work well with others a must
- Maintains a clean, organized, and properly stocked company vehicle, promptly reporting any maintenance needs or mechanical problems
- Deadline and very detail oriented; there are many jobs that go on daily and it is crucial everything is done according to the installation time schedule
- Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED
- Ability to work in the United States
