Job Description

Essential Duties

• Check each vehicle for the primary complaint(s) as efficiently as possible and note on
  
  

the Repair Order what has been found. Every vehicle will receive a pre- and post-work

test drive as well as a digital inspection. This is done in the sequence established by the

dispatch system from the top of your Tablet. No cherry picking allowed!

• Fully inspect each vehicle using the Inspection Form. Communicate clearly on the
  
  

Inspection Form or Repair Order what additional work is necessary, as well as the parts

needed for the job. Always check the Vehicle and History tabs before starting your work.

Knowing what has been done or not done in the past is important for future

recommendations about the vehicle.

• Ensure that all pertinent information for the vehicle, including mileage, model, and VIN
  
  

is contained on the Repair Order before it gets routed back to the Service Advisor for

estimation.

• Document the work performed and all parts used –
• Road test any and all jobs.
  
  

Driver’s License Insurability

As a technician, you are required to operate the vehicles on which you work, so you must

have a current and valid driver’s license. We also require that you be reasonably insured so

once we obtain a copy of your driver’s license, we will verify the information with our

insurance company.

The Service Technician is charged with fully-inspecting a vehicle, diagnosing and repairing it

correctly – the first time - within a reasonable amount of time. This means the diagnosis is

within the training and skill level of a professional automotive technician. Reasonable time

means 100% efficiency or better.
