Bereavement Coordinator plans and provides bereavement counseling and support to survivors. Assesses individual needs and coordinates with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and deliver a holistic support plan. Being a Bereavement Coordinator guides survivors to appropriate bereavement resources. Facilitates grief support group sessions. Additionally, Bereavement Coordinator requires a bachelor's degree in social work. May require the applicable State License to Practice Clinical Social Work. Typically reports to a manager. The Bereavement Coordinator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     REGIONAL BEREAVEMENT COORDINATOR

    Full Time

    Covering New Hanover, Pender & Brunswick Counties 
     
    Job Description:

    • Administer a planned bereavement program in a regional area.
    • Provide bereavement services to assist the patient, family and other individuals in coping with grief/bereavement in an organized program.
    • Provide organization of planned bereavement programs in regional offices.
    • Training of staff for providing bereavement/grief support to families and providing care to bereaved through program plan.
    • Provide statistical reporting and appropriate documentation in bereavement care.
    • Accountable in coordinating outreach and support for bereavement care and support in community and contracted facilities.
    • Other job duties as assigned.
    Job Requirements:
    • Minimum requirement is a bachelors' degree in human services field such as social work, psychology, counseling or related field with experience and education in death and dying and the grief process.
    • Master’s Degree preferred.
    • Experience in group facilitation and support intervention.
    • Knowledge of the signs of grief symptoms and process.
    • Demonstration of proficiency in writing and oral communication.
    • Knowledge and skill with computer software programs to include Word, Excel and documentation system.
    • Must accept travel and working conditions as assigned.
