Bindery Technician jobs in Maryland
Bindery Technician performs various machine and manual operations to complete print binding and finishing processes. Completes tasks including measuring, cutting, collating, inserting, folding, stapling, or gluing to produce finished bound products. Being a Bindery Technician sets up, operates, tends, and maintains bindery equipment. Inspects equipment for malfunctions, troubleshoots and resolves problems. Additionally, Bindery Technician follows all required quality and safety procedures. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Bindery Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. 2nd Shift(evening): 3pm to 11pm, Mon-Fri, Mandatory work every other Saturday during heavy production periods.
Night Shift(overnight): 11pm - 7am, Mon-Fri, Mandatory work every other Saturday during heavy production periods.
Our ideal cutter operator candidate has experience operating a guillotine style cutter. The bindery is responsible for cutting and folding high volumes of paper, using high speed machines, for direct mail. The position requires good energy, ability to follow directions and pay close attention, and basic math. Additionally, you must be able to lift 25lbs or more continuously, and be able to stand for long periods of time. Must understand directions in English and communicate in English.
