Bindery Technician performs various machine and manual operations to complete print binding and finishing processes. Completes tasks including measuring, cutting, collating, inserting, folding, stapling, or gluing to produce finished bound products. Being a Bindery Technician sets up, operates, tends, and maintains bindery equipment. Inspects equipment for malfunctions, troubleshoots and resolves problems. Additionally, Bindery Technician follows all required quality and safety procedures. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Bindery Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Set up, adjust and operate a variety of auxiliary binding machines containing several cutting heads, control surfaces or other attachments (i.
e. inkjet and mailing devices, case making & decorating equipment, folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, binding / gluing machines)
Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret written work orders or other job specifications containing bindery requirements which indicate the number and sequence of machine operations required to complete the work and to maintain dimensional accuracy in accordance with instructions provided;
independently makes decisions on the type of equipment to be used
Shift Hours : 2PM - 10PM
Pay range for this position is $23.25 to $25.25 per hour; however, base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$2.00 per hour shift differential for 2nd shift.
