- Babson College Undergraduate Student Employment TITLE: Phonathon Caller DEPARTMENT: Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving SUPERVISOR: Terese Bisbee, Assistant Director, Annual Giving EMAIL: bisbee@babson.edu DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Babson Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving Office employs students to call alumni and parents seeking their financial support of the College. The money that callers raise for Babson helps to bridge the financial gap between what is collected in tuition, and the actual cost to educate students and operate the College each year. As representatives of Babson, great communication skills, enthusiasm, honesty, integrity, reliability, confidence, professionalism, attention to detail, confidentiality, the ability to engage in conversation, and time management skills are qualities required for this position. The student work experience is excellent. QUALIFICATIONS: Strong communication skills and the ability to easily initiate and carry a conversation, communicating clearly and concisely over the phone in English; a genuine interest in speaking with Babson alumni and parents, and a great attitude are essential. Additionally, attention to details and instructions is very important for the position. Phonathon Callers receive mandatory training on RNL Engage/CampusCall software, as well as on calling scripts. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Two shifts per week work requirement. Permission may be given for additional work hours upon request. Callers are able to choose their shifts each week on a first-come, first-served basis when the shift schedule email is sent to the team Wednesday mornings. Calling shift schedule (may be subject to change by early September), but is currently: Sunday, 1-4 p.m.; Monday and Tuesday, 2:50-5:50 p.m., and 5:55-8:55 p.m.; Wednesday, 1:30-4:30 p.m. and 4:35-7:35 p.m.; Thursday, 1:15-4:15 p.m. and 4:25-7:25 p.m. (Qualified student candidates who have been awarded Federal Work Study may be given priority consideration.)
