POSITION SUMMARY

Supply high quality proteins for rigorous exploratory biophysical and functional characterization to meet researcher specifications.

Supply proteins as standards and reagents for development of and operation of production HTP quantification assays of plant expression. Supply proteins globally for indications/pest testing. Develop solutions to remediate production of potential high value targets for screening and/or dosed testing workflows.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Large scale production and isolation of protein
• Program automated liquid handlers to establish workflows.
• Participate in high throughput expression and purification of proteins.
• Conduct assays on purified proteins.
• Work closely with cross-functional team to routinely deliver pipeline proteins.
• Flexible enough to adapt to the changing needs of a dynamic research environment.
• Deliver results in a timely fashion and assist with general laboratory operation.
• Maintain proper records and documentation.

REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES

Education Requirement(s):

• MS or BS degree in Biochemistry, Genetics, Engineering, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• MS with relevant experience, Bachelor with 2 , years of experience in biochemical research is required.

Skill & Competency Requirements:

• Experience with a variety of recombinant protein expression systems as well as tagged and tag-free purification methods.
• Proficiency with protein assay, gel electrophoresis, western blotting is required.
• Strong hands-on experience with AKTA purification systems (Pure, Avant) is required, ability for AKTA equipment trouble shooting is highly preferred.
• Experience with ion exchange, hydrophobic, mixed mode, and affinity. chromatography with AKTA purification systems is highly preferred.
• Highly organized with excellent analytical, documentation, and multi-tasking skills.
