This department typically works Monday-Friday from 7-4 or 8-5 am. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Summary: The Loan Documentation Review Specialist I (LDRS) is responsible for the pre or post-closing review of loan documentation for accuracy and compliance with bank policy, department procedure and loan approvals. The LDRS will document any errors or discrepancies by issuing oversights or placing document exceptions in the bank’s loan origination software (“LOS”) and will assist in the curing of document exceptions by monitoring electronic requests and incoming mail. The ideal candidate is highly detailed, well organized, able to multi-task and enthusiastic about continuously learning new skills and subject matter. The ability to communicate complex ideas confidently and concisely is mandatory. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Understand Commercial Loan approvals and develop a knowledge of, loan purpose, loan terms, collateral, loan conditions, and covenants as well as the appropriate documentation required to deliver the loan in a form that is compliant with the loan approval as well as bank policy, department procedure and all compliance and statutory requirements. Specialize in the review of builder loans, new loans with simple collateral and renewals with simple collateral. Be knowledgeable of the necessary documentation and requirements for collateral perfection, including but not limited to, real estate, vehicles, equipment, business assets, life insurance, investment accounts, stock/bonds and deposit accounts. Review loan documentation packages for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to the loan approval, regulatory requirements, and bank policy/procedures. Confirm all conditions as stated in the approval have been met. Ensure proper lien perfection has been obtained by verifying that Centier has received the required recorded mortgage and assignment of rents, vehicle titles with Centier’s lien, recorded UCC filings, acknowledgement of our assignment on Life Insurance policies and Investment Accounts, obtaining original stocks or bonds and holds are placed on checking, savings and cd. Create document exception ticklers as necessary to ensure corrective action will be taken relating to documentation deficiencies. Ticklers will also be created for follow up on proper collateral perfections including, recorded documents, UCC tracking and flood insurance tracking. Submit documentation oversights to the appropriate Smartsheet. Monitor and utilize the Commercial File Review pipeline according to department procedure and assigned tasks. Decision making will be firmly in compliance with applicable state statutes, department procedure and bank policy. Identify and escalate errors or deficiencies that pose risk to the bank’s collateral position or otherwise. Propose new procedures, tools and controls when appropriate to maximize efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. Capacity to comprehend and apply complex subject matter in the review of documentation in an effort to mitigate overall risk to the bank. Must demonstrate a willingness to learn and the desire to develop new skills to improve overall work performance and contribute to the success of department function and initiatives. Other Duties and Responsibilities: Processing Commercial Loan Packages. Processing interoffice mail. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must possess excellent communication and customer services skills. Must be able to take initiative to find answers by asking questions and researching. Must be a quick study for new tasks, procedures, software/technology as well as conceptual philosophy behind the diverse set of tasks related to risk management and workflows. Must be able to work independently and operate as a contributing member to a team. Exceptional organizational skills along with the ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities. Ability to think critically and express conclusions verbally and in writing. Must exhibit bank’s Essentials of Excellence and maintain a positive attitude in a high volume and high stress environment. Results oriented with strong attention to detail. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma At least 2 years of banking experience Demonstrated expertise in organizing and analyzing data.
