Business Development Manager, Sr. jobs in Minnesota

Business Development Manager, Sr. manages the daily execution of the business development strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. Coaches teams in best practices and effective tactics for prospecting new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Being a Business Development Manager, Sr. establishes team targets and metrics to measure the achievement of objectives. Develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Additionally, Business Development Manager, Sr. makes suggestions for new product offerings or improvements to sales or marketing efforts. May administer or negotiate new business proposals and prepare contracts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Business Development Manager, Sr. typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Business Development Manager, Sr. typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • Business Development Planning Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for direct sales as assigned by customer and/or territory
    • Work with VP Business Operations to develop targeted sales goals to align with strategic

    business objectives

    • Work with VP Business Operations to forecast future sales activity during the annual business

    planning process

    • Develop and maintain sales reports, sales indicators, and sales effectiveness metrics
    • Provide detailed reports and analysis to outline sales activities and achievement of sales

    goals for customer and/or territory assigned responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain sales budget to achieve targeted sales goals
    • Support Marketing to develop a marketing strategy and marketing effectiveness metrics in

    order to effectively:

    o Research evolving market environment to source potential new business within assigned

    customer and/or territory responsibilities

    o Identify profitable and strategic opportunities within assigned customer and/or territory

    responsibilities

    o Promote Donatelle capabilities through company branding in trade shows, advertising,

    industry publications, etc.

    o Develop and maintain industry networking activities and key contact information

    o Develop customized sales tools, presentations, and proposals

    Sales Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain sales contacts, and identify new business opportunities within

    assigned customer and/or territory responsibilities

    • Execute on sales plan that will significantly grow business and meet targeted customer sales

    and profit expectations

    • Execute a sales plan that connects Donatelle with new sales opportunities which can

    leverage Donatelle’s unique values and technology (we don’t compete on price)

    • Responsible to solicit and facilitate Requests For Quotes (RFQs) demonstrating business

    opportunities

    • Ensure RFQs are aligned with Donatelle competencies and business objectives
    • Dedicate efforts to attain new business through sales presentations at customers’ locations,

    sales calls, and other sales activities as necessary to meet targeted customer sales and profit

    expectations

    • Communicate business opportunities and customer requirements to appropriate Donatelle

    personnel

    • Ensure Donatelle provides accurate, effective, and timely proposals, quotations, and

    customer presentations in response to RFQs

    • Work with VP Business Operations and Business Continuity Manager’s to ensure appropriate

    plans and actions align with customer strategies

    • Close on business opportunities by developing RFQs into firm customer commitments

    Sales Management Responsibilities:

    • Provide support to the outside sales functions as needed, including:

    a) supporting outside manufacturing reps in communicating quote opportunities and status

    within Donatelle

    b) support customer calls and travel to prospect customers to support new business growth

    c) help close targeted new business to achieve new business growth targets


    • Work in concert with the Business Continuity Managers and outside sales to create and

    maintain annual sales forecasts

    • Set direction and focus for the targeted outside sales effort to include identification of

    profitable target markets, customers, and product lines

    • Provide periodic sales reports to management, outlining sales activities and key issues as they

    relate to business growth and impact on annual business plan goals and objectives

    • Provide direct management to Business Development Managers

    General Responsibilities:

    • Responsibility to protect Donatelle confidential information and intellectual property
    • Follow safety requirements as outlined in the safety manual
    • Perform other projects and duties as assigned

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical or business area
    • 8 years of direct sales and marketing experience within the custom medical manufacturing

    and device industry

    • Strong technical background in injection molding and/or precision machining
