Business Development Supervisor jobs in the United States

Business Development Supervisor identifies, evaluates, and pursues business opportunities with partners or potential customers. Coordinates and negotiates with other departments to implement marketing initiatives. Being a Business Development Supervisor is responsible for maintaining close relationship with existing clients. Acquires new customers, retains and expands existing customer relationships. Additionally, Business Development Supervisor develops sales of products and services by investigating and resolving customer problems, recommends modifications to the product/service line, and coordinates sales negotiations with appropriate personnel. Responsible for meeting sales volume and revenue goals and standards for activity, such as number of sales calls. Requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance or marketing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Business Development Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Development Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Business Development Trainee Daily Responsibilities:

    • Communicate product features and benefits directly to inquiring customers throughout the sales process
    • Learn to analyze our targeted customers by utilizing specific territory and demographic research
    • Seek out new sales opportunities and employ the benefit of cross-selling approved products
    • Be a skilled expert at market and territory research, connecting with our targeted audiences, increasing quality engagements, and brand profitability
    • Dedication to achieving high closing sales rates through overturning objections and utilizing negotiation tactics
    • Work with other Business Development Trainees and the Business Development Manager to ensure all goals for our clients are met

    Skills Needed For Success As Our Business Development Trainee:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Sales, or related field is required
    • 1-2 years of experience in a Business Development, Account Management, Sales, and/or Management position is highly desired
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Tenacity, grit, and a dedication to professionalism
    • A student mentality and the drive to succeed and gain new skill sets
    • Approachable and a positive, empathetic demeanor
