Business Intelligence Director jobs in Iowa

As a member of our Business Intelligence team, you will be responsible for performing system and data analysis, design, and programming, using independent judgment and technical expertise. Assist in the development and maintenance of the ISU Foundation reporting system and provide first tier support for the organization.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide assistance and technical support for the Annual & Special Gifts team to support complex data requests.
• Collaborate with the Gift Administration team to verify and reconcile daily financial transactions and prepare tax year-end receipts for all donor constituents.
• Efficiently manage the process of posting Athletics giving to the Salesforce CRM system by analyzing and integrating transactions from the athletics ticketing platform.
• Deliver high quality technical advice to end-users and provide training as needed.
• Assist with the development, documentation, and maintenance of data processes in various systems throughout the organization.
• Assist with information delivery from the various system applications to end-users, through a variety of reporting systems, ensuring data quality and consistency.
• Provide support to end-users on reporting needs: answer questions, troubleshoot issues and research solutions.
• Process query requests and ad hoc query team projects.
• Collaborate and communicate with other IT team members also working in information requests and data analysis to coordinate delivery of accurate and reliable information.

Qualifications

Education & Work Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field is required.
• 4 years of professional experience analyzing data, publishing data results, analysis, and programming. Education may be substituted for years of work experience.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Must have knowledge of database and reporting systems, data structures, Microsoft Office, and SQL language.
• Excellent customer service skills (end user support/assistance specialist/services) (excellent interpersonal and technical skills). Ability to describe technical topics from a business perspective.
• Ability to work closely with others in an office environment. Ability to effectively communicate goals and priorities to team members and to communicate in non-technical terms with end-users.
• Must have good writing skills and possess effective and strong presentation skills.
• Ability to apply technical / functional expertise, manage and improve processes, practice self-development, champion change and innovation, foster collaboration and inspire trust.
• Report development expertise, preferably in a data warehousing environment.
• Knowledge of fundraising systems and higher education experience.
• Salesforce data structure experience.
• ETL development tools.
