    Position Overview:

    We're on the lookout for a skilled Business Development Manager with a solid background in the Federal Department of Defense (DoD) market to join our team and help us broaden our horizons. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving new business initiatives, managing a robust pipeline, showcasing SDA’s capabilities to clients and partners, and collaborating with our extended team to bolster strategic programs.

    We need someone who's well-versed in the latest trends and emerging technologies within the Federal DoD IT market. This role demands visibility and a track record of successfully expanding business ventures and nurturing existing engagements. As our Business Development Manager, you'll be tasked with crafting and implementing comprehensive business development strategies, collaborating with various teams to promote and market SDA service solutions within the Federal DoD sector. Strong experience with Federal DoD programs, including planning, budgeting, and acquisition processes, is essential.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Identifying, qualifying, and spearheading new business opportunities within designated territories.
    • Devising and executing tailored business development strategies.
    • Actively participating in customer and partner engagements, representing SDA at industry events.
    • Educating government clients, partners, and internal stakeholders about SDA's value proposition.
    • Staying abreast of market trends, mission priorities, and customer objectives to shape and secure opportunities.
    • Cultivating strong relationships with government executives, program managers, and industry partners to drive growth.
    • Assisting in crafting growth plans for specific accounts.
    • Demonstrating strong leadership and organizational skills to foster crucial relationships vital for technology advancement.

    Requirements:

    • Must have a demonstrated track record of designing and executing successful Business Development and Capture strategies and achieving profitable revenue growth in federal DoD contracting work.
    • Must have a reputation for being able to work collaboratively with high performance teams in a fast-paced environment.
    • Candidate must have 8 or more years of related recent business development/capture experience.
    • Proven ability to build business cases when investments are needed to pursue an opportunity.
    • An understanding of teaming and subcontracting to include experience with creating teaming agreements, vendor relationships, service level agreements, and contractor teaming arrangements.
    • Understand IC/DoD budget, investments, and acquisition processes.
    • Strong background in IT systems (e.g. Cloud, Big Data) processes, and technologies that support them.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
    • Ability to use automated tools such as Microsoft Office to present ideas, information, and reports.
    • A demonstrated sustained ability and reputation of winning complex, IC/DoD programs with values over $25M is essential.
    • A portfolio of submittals and awards to include experience in all types of government contracts (firm-fixed price, T&M, cost-plus, etc.) and a full array of capture strategies (major re-competes, incumbent capture, sole source, etc.).
    • Must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and highly effective interpersonal skills to carry-out daily interactions with technical leaders and business executives.
    • Comfortable engaging with senior executives and managing large IT programs through the acquisition process.
    • High energy, positive attitude, and self-driven with a penchant for curiosity and perseverance.
    • Exceptional social, written, and presentation skills.
    • Thriving in dynamic, fast-growing environments.
    • Capable of working independently and remotely within the Washington DC Metro area.

    Customer Requirements

    • BS in Business, Computer Science, or Information Technology
    • Minimum 8 years of related experience
    • Clearance - Must be eligible to obtain one.
    • Citizenship - Must be a U.S. Citizen
