Our Rhode Island based client is looking for a Buyer with 3 years' experience; this role is onsite Monday-Friday and 40 hours per week. At least 2 years of buying experience for jewelry, fashion or accessories.

Responsibilities

• Drive merchandising strategy and assortment plans for merchandise category and channel.
• Think creatively on packaging and presentation
• Research trends, trend spotting, and interpret trends based on how they relate to the customer.
• Work across multiple departments to ensure calendar is on schedule and projects and goods are arriving on time.
• Participate in review meetings, including edits, board review, pre-costing, line reviews, adoption and post-market review.
• Be the client/customer face for vendors, customers, suppliers, and licensors
• Work with Account and Sales to style the showroom
• Attend industry events and tradeshows as need

Qualifications

• Proficient experience and understanding of costume jewelry merchandising, fashion and design. Identifying trends and interpreting them based on client needs
• Ability to identify voids in customer assortments and identifying white space.
• Entrepreneurial drive tempered by judgment and strong leadership skills
• Superior organizational and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented and meticulous
• Previous experience in costume jewelry, accessories and/or hair goods merchandising or buying; relevant experience in categories
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
• Able to travel
