Prepares computer-aided design (CAD) drafts, drawings, and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. A small engineering firm looking for a BIM Manager / Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Drafter to join our staff. Applicant must be proficient in AutoCADD and Revit software. CAD Drafter must have an understanding of setting up mechanical, plumbing and electrical construction drawings, the ability to incorporate drawing details and pick up markups given by engineers and designers, and produce a final professional submission. This individual needs to be able to communicate clearly, be detail-oriented, be able to follow directives given, be able to manage their time effectively, and keep track of several tasks at a time. We are a quick paced firm that is very busy so we are looking for someone that can handle pressure well, has excellent follow-through skills, and has a solid work ethic.
