The position is based on the Stephenville campus, must be able to work remotely at the request of the University. Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate; which may include afterhours and/or weekends Responsibilities: 40% Leadership and Management: The Director of Campus Recreation is responsible for administrative oversight of Campus Recreation and provides leadership and direction in support of the department's mission, vision, and goals. Develops and leads an efficient department by supervising administrative, graduate, and undergraduate student staff, Trains Associate/Assistant Directors, and Coordinators to provide quality support and customer service. 25% Budget and Facility Management: Manages a multi-million-dollar annual budget, capital improvements, strategic planning and maintenance and facility operations. This includes a wide variety of recreational, aquatics, fitness, outdoor, and educational activities. Directs implementation efforts for short and long-term facility renovation and improvements, and modernization program for optimum utilization of facilities. Works with Campus Operations and the maintenance and housekeeping contractor to coordinate management of all properties. 15% Strategic Planning and Policy Management: Develops and implements short and long-term plans consistent with strategic planning to ensure mission effectiveness. Provides creative and innovative leadership and direction to staff in assessment, program development, marketing of services to enhance student satisfaction, and income generation. 15% Collaboration and Service: Oversees and facilitates collaboration within Campus Recreation. Creates and maintains an environment of high-level customer service for all groups and individuals utilizing the facilities. Provides assistance to students with problem solving, mentoring, and organization team advising. Works collaboratively with the university and local communities to advance partnerships. Collaborates with campus departments to create a community that fosters the opportunity for students to expand their involvement in social, recreational, and fitness activities. Investigates and explores collaboration with the City of Stephenville on the matter of entering into Memoranda of Understandings/MOU regarding shared use of field spaces off campus and within the City of Stephenville. 5% Other: Performs other duties as assigned; Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). Documents and reports to the University Police any crime information they believe is provided to you in good faith: participate in Clery Act Training for CSAs; become familiar with the Campus Security Authority Reference Manual on the University Police Department website. Education and Experience: -Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. -Ten years of related experience.
