Capacity Planning Supervisor jobs in New York
Capacity Planning Supervisor leads a capacity planning team to plan and monitor an organization's operating limits and capacities. Forecasts and plans capacity requirements to align with production schedules, resource levels, and inventory demand. Being a Capacity Planning Supervisor identifies and troubleshoots production issues or bottlenecks that impact plant capacity. Coordinates with internal stakeholders to understand future plans and develop responsive capacity forecasting. Additionally, Capacity Planning Supervisor utilizes production metrics and manufacturing research to develop insights on processes or equipment and recommend improvements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Capacity Planning Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Capacity Planning Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. In this role, you will help maintain the factory capacity model to support all aspects of Wolfspeed manufacturing and business operations at our state-of-the-art fab in Marcy, NY.
The Day-to-Day- Develop and maintain time studies, capacity modeling, line balancing and ergonomic information to support a high-volume production line.
- Utilize capacity model to identify bottlenecks and perform line balancing to support a high-volume production line
- Communicate regularly with various function groups within Wolfspeed to ensure alignment and progress in industrial engineering projects.
- Analyzes work force utilization, work center layout, material flows, production costs, process flow and production requirements to determine the most efficient utilization of personnel and equipment.
- BS degree from a four-year college/university in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
- Experience in a highly automated material handling fab is necessary.
- 1 year prior work experience as an Industrial Engineer, in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Overall knowledge of industrial engineering to support fab capacity planning, resource utilization and lean manufacturing.
- High proficiency in the use of computer applications such as Excel, Word, AutoCAD, statistical analysis software, database creation and management. Experience with databases and data analysis tools (SQL, Access, JMP, VBA, PowerBI etc.)
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
- High motivation with continuous drive for improvement.
This position requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations.

The posted salary range is what Wolfspeed reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual pay for a hired applicant will be determined based on the individual’s job-relevant qualifications, experience, and other determinative factors. In the event it is determined that a different job level upon hire is warranted then that range will be communicated to the hired applicant as soon as reasonably practicable.
Compensation Range:
$75,000.00 - $103,000.00
